FILAMENT / FIELD NOTES

Plan your next batch

Separate spools. Complete jobs. A buying decision you can check.

The starting weights are an arithmetic example. Replace them with your measurements. Mass supports up to six decimal places; prices support two.

01 · Your batch

One job is one complete sliced plate, including supports, brim and purge. Do not multiply by its object count.

02 · Your physical spools
03 · Buying options (optional)

Enter your own quotes. No prices are fetched.

Why separate spools matter

Two usable 100 g spools finish two 60 g jobs without a mid-job change. Their combined 200 g does not finish three: each spool has only 40 g left after its first job.

Method

Usable grams equal measured net grams minus your reserve, with a minimum of zero. Divide each spool’s usable grams by complete-job grams and round down. Add these separate capacities. Assign jobs to the smallest usable spools first, preserving larger spools where possible. This is not mixed-job optimization. Each purchase option is evaluated independently. Whole packs round up to cover missing jobs. Shipping is charged once per order. Blank prices mean unknown cost, not free filament. Use prices including applicable tax in one currency.

Check the assumptions

Confirm acceptable material, color and profile yourself. A job is a complete sliced plate. Changing that plate changes the estimate. Reserves are your choice, not a success guarantee. This tool does not model automatic refill or splicing. Read weighing, slicer estimates, and reserve uncertainty.
