FILAMENT / FIELD NOTES
Enough grams can mean too few jobs
Physical spool boundaries change the answer.
A counterexample
Two usable 100 g spools each fit one 60 g job, leaving 40 g each. Dividing their combined 200 g by 60 suggests three jobs. Without a mid-job change, only two fit.
Round first, then add
For each spool, round usable grams divided by job grams down to a whole count. Add those counts. Leftover filament is not necessarily waste; it can suit smaller jobs.
Where this rule applies
All requested jobs must be identical and finish from a single spool. Automatic switching, deliberate manual changes and splicing are different workflows. Several different-sized jobs need another allocation method; entering an average can hide impossible assignments.
Check your plan
The planner exposes per-spool capacity and assignment. This arithmetic example is illustrative, not a physical product test. See complete-job estimates before entering plate data.
